Wrongful death case involving alleged diagnosis failure settled

No patient should have to face diagnosis-related negligence at the hands of a medical professional or a medical facility. Such negligence can be incredibly harmful to patients. Such negligence can sometimes even have fatal results.

Thus, one hopes that medical professionals and medical facilities make sure to act properly when it comes to the diagnosing of patients and are held accountable when they commit diagnosis-related negligence that results in a patient getting hurt or dying.

Recently, a wrongful death case that involved allegations of diagnosis-related negligence was settled. The case was from Pennsylvania. The case involved a 51-year-old woman who received medical care in 2007.

The woman's husband alleged that negligence, including a negligent failure to properly diagnose the woman, occurred during the course of this care. According to the woman's husband, the alleged negligence led to the woman suffering a stroke and dying. The woman's death occurred in October 2007.

A lawsuit was brought by the woman's husband in relation to these allegations. The lawsuit named a physicians assistant and a medical practice as defendants.

A settlement has been reached in relation to this case. The settlement was recently approved by a judge. Under the terms of the settlement, the woman's husband will receive a monetary payment.

As this case illustrates, medical malpractice/wrongful death cases sometimes end through settlements. Settlement offers can contain many different types of terms and there are many different factors that can contribute to whether or not a person should take a given settlement offer. This is one of the many reasons why having the advice of an experienced medical malpractice attorney can be very important when one is pursuing a medical malpractice/wrongful death claim.
