Lawsuit claims diagnosis/treatment-related negligence led to patient's death

Diagnosis-related negligence and treatment-related negligence can cause great harm to patients. Thus, it is very important for medical professionals and hospitals to act properly when it comes to the diagnosing and treating of patients.

A wrongful death case has recently arisen involving allegations of diagnosis/treatment-related negligence. The case involves a now-deceased man who was from Collinsville, Illinois.

Reportedly, on June 24, 2011, the man received care from a doctor at the emergency room of a hospital in Maryville, Illinois. It has been alleged that, during this care, the doctor failed to properly diagnose the man and failed to provide him with proper treatment.

Reportedly, the man died soon after receiving said care. It has been alleged that the alleged negligence was a contributing factor in the man's death.

A wrongful death lawsuit has been brought by the man's son in relation to these allegations. The above-mentioned doctor and the above-mentioned hospital are named as defendants in this lawsuit. Damages are being sought in this lawsuit.

As the allegations in this case underscore, diagnosis/treatment-related negligence can sometimes have fatal results. No family should have to suffer the loss of a loved one because a medical professional or hospital failed to act properly.

Death of a loved one due to medical negligence can be very impactful on a family. While nothing can ever make up for the loss of a loved one, there are options available for families who lose a loved one due to medical negligence to seek financial relief from the negligent parties. One such option is pursuing a wrongful death claim.
