Lawsuit brought in connection to alleged failure to diagnose

It can be very harmful when a medical professional negligently fails to properly diagnose a condition that a patient suffers from. Thus, it is very important for medical professionals to not act negligently when diagnosing patients.

Recently, a case involving an alleged failure to diagnose has arisen. The case is from Texas. The case involves a woman who received prenatal care from a gynecologist in Texas during a pregnancy.

The woman claims that, during this care, the gynecologist negligently failed to diagnose a thyroid condition that the woman suffered from. Reportedly, the condition was eventually detected by other physicians.

According to the woman, the alleged failure by the gynecologist to diagnose her thyroid condition caused her to suffer a variety of harms, including impairment and pain. The woman further claims that the alleged negligence has resulted in her having to have life-long medical monitoring.

A medical malpractice lawsuit has been brought in a court in Texas by the woman in connection to the above allegations. This lawsuit names the above-mentioned gynecologist and a nurse practitioner as defendants. It has been reported that this lawsuit is asking for damages. One wonders what will ultimately happen in this medical malpractice case.

Diagnosis-related negligence like that alleged in this case can cause a great deal of harm to patients. No patient should have to suffer harm because a medical professional failed to act properly. Thus, one hopes that medical professionals are held accountable when they commit negligence like that alleged in this case.
