Rehabilitation center accused of causing man to suffer burns on hands

No patient should have to be subjected to negligent care. Thus, when a health care professional or facility provides a person with medical care, it is very important that they not act negligently in connection to such care.

Recently, a medical malpractice case involving allegations of negligent care of a patient has arisen in Pennsylvania. The case involves a now-deceased man who reportedly received care from a rehabilitation center in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania in 2010.

The man's son claims that the rehabilitation center was negligent in its care of the man. Specifically, the man's son alleges that negligence occurred in connection to physical therapy treatments that were given to the man. The man's son claims that this alleged negligence resulted in the man's hands getting seriously burned.

According to the Beaver County Times article which reported this story, a medical malpractice lawsuit has been brought by the man's son in a court in Pennsylvania in connection to the above allegations. In this lawsuit, an occupational therapist and the above-mentioned rehabilitation center have been named as defendants. According to the Beaver County Times article mentioned above, this lawsuit is asking for damages. One wonders what will ultimately happen in this case.

As the allegations in this medical malpractice case underscore, a patient can suffer great harm when a health care professional or facility acts negligently when providing him or her with care. Thus, one hopes that health care professionals and facilities are held accountable when they commit negligence like that alleged in this case.
