Woman claims surgeon performed operative measures on wrong knee

It is very important for medical professionals to act properly when it comes to surgical care. When a medical professional acts negligently while providing surgical care to a patient, it can result in surgical errors occurring. One surgical error that sometimes occurs is wrong-site surgery. A patient can suffer great harm when a medical professional operates on the wrong part of the patient.

Recently, a medical malpractice case has arisen in Texas involving allegations of operation on the wrong site. The case involves a woman who reportedly received care from a surgeon in 2010 in connection to a knee injury that she had.

The woman claims that the surgeon committed negligence during his care of her. Specifically, the woman alleges that the surgeon mistakenly performed operative measures on the wrong knee. The woman claims that this alleged negligence caused her to suffer a variety of harms including:

  • Pain
  • Injury
  • Impairment

A lawsuit has been brought by the woman in a court in Texas against the surgeon in connection to these allegations. It has been reported that the woman is seeking damages in her lawsuit. One wonders what will ultimately happen in this case.

As the allegations in this medical malpractice case underscore, surgical negligence can result in patients suffering harm. Thus, one hopes that medical professionals make sure to not commit negligence like that alleged in this case. One also hopes that medical professionals are held accountable when they commit surgical negligence and such negligence causes a patient to suffer harm.
