Verdict reached in failure to diagnose case

If a medical professional negligently fails to properly diagnose a patient, it can result in the patient suffering great harm. Thus, it is very important for medical professionals and hospitals to act properly when it comes to the examination and diagnosing of patients. No patient should have to suffer harm because a medical professional and/or hospital acted negligently towards them.

Recently, a verdict was reached in a case from Wyoming that involved an alleged failure to diagnose. The case involved a man who reportedly was taken to a hospital in Wyoming after having been involved in a truck accident.

The man claimed that he received negligent care when he was at the hospital. According to the man, this alleged negligence led to a failure to diagnose a cervical fracture he had suffered. The man further claimed that this alleged failure to diagnose caused him to suffer harm.

The man and his wife brought a lawsuit against the above-mentioned hospital and an emergency room physician in connection to these allegations. A trial was held on this matter. Recently, the jury in this case reached its verdict. According to the Casper Star-Tribune article which reported this story, the jury ruled in favor of the man and his wife and awarded them a large monetary judgment.

Patients can suffer great harm when hospitals and/or medical professionals fail to act properly when it comes to the examination and diagnosing of patients. Thus, one hopes that medical professionals and hospitals are held accountable when they engage in negligence like that alleged in the above-mentioned case.
