Hospital accused of negligence in connection to child's delivery

It is very important for hospitals and medical professionals to not act negligently when they are providing care in connection to the delivery of a child. Such negligence can result in an infant suffering birth injuries. Such injuries can have significant impacts on an infant.

Recently, a malpractice case involving a delivery has arisen in North Carolina. The case involves a hospital in North Carolina. Reportedly, in November of 2008, an infant girl was delivered at the hospital.

The girl's parents allege that the hospital was negligent in the care it provided in connection to the delivery. According to the parents, during the delivery, a nurse dropped the girl on the floor. Allegedly, the girl sustained a hematoma and a skull fracture.

The girl's parents have brought a lawsuit against the hospital in connection to these allegations. The WSOC-TV article which reported this story did not mention what specific remedies the girl's parents are seeking in their lawsuit. It will be interesting to see what ultimately happens in this case.

As the allegations in the case mentioned above illustrate, an infant can suffer great harm when a hospital or medical professional acts negligently in connection to his or her delivery. Thus, one hopes that hospitals and medical professionals will make sure to avoid committing negligence when providing care in connection to the delivery of a child. One also hopes that hospitals and medical professionals are held accountable when they do commit such negligence and it results in an infant getting hurt.
