Woman alleges her CT scan results were misinterpreted

There are many different types of medical scans. One such type are CT scans. It is very important for medical professionals and medical organizations to act properly when it comes to such scans. This includes making sure to not act negligently when interpreting the results of such scans.

A negligent misinterpretation of a CT scan can be very impactful. For example, it can lead to a patient being diagnosed incorrectly or a patient being subjected to an unnecessary surgery/procedure. No patient in Connecticut should have to be subjected to CT scan-related negligence.

A case has recently arisen involving a CT scan and allegations of medical negligence. The case is from another state, West Virginia.

The case involves a woman who had a CT scan taken of her. The woman alleges that a doctor and a radiology group misinterpreted the results of this scan. According to the woman, this alleged misinterpretation, along with other alleged negligence by the doctor and the radiology group, led to her undergoing a procedure that was unnecessary (an aorta resection) and suffering pain, mental anguish and other harms.

The woman and her husband have brought a lawsuit against the doctor and the radiology group in connection to these allegations. One wonders what will ultimately happen in this case.

As the allegations in this medical malpractice case underscore, scan-related negligence can cause significant harm to patients. One hopes that medical professionals and medical organizations are held accountable when they commit harmful scan-related negligence.

If a person suspects that they have been the victim of scan-related negligence or other medical negligence, they may wish to consider meeting with an experienced medical malpractice attorney.
