Medical malpractice lawsuit brought in relation to bed sores

Oftentimes, after a major surgical procedure or some other type of intensive medical treatment, a person will spend time recovering in a hospital. When a person is recovering from a surgery or a treatment, their health can be very fragile. This can particularly be the case for older individuals. Thus, it is very important for Connecticut hospitals and their staff members to act properly when providing care to individuals who are recovering from a surgery or treatment.

There are a wide variety of different types of injuries and conditions patients can be exposed to when hospitals and medical professionals act negligently in connection to such care. One such type are bed sores. Bed sores can be very harmful. These sores can sometimes even result in an individual's death.

Recently, a medical malpractice case involving bed sores has arisen in another state. The case involves a hospital in New Mexico and a now-deceased elderly woman.

According to the woman's children, in December of last year, the woman received care at the hospital after having had a hip replacement surgery. The woman's children allege that the hospital's staff acted negligently during the course of this care.

The woman's children claim that this negligence led to the woman developing bed sores. According to them, the woman's bedsores caused the woman to suffer great harm and led to her dying sooner than she otherwise would have. She died a few days after the hip replacement surgery.

A medical malpractice lawsuit has been brought by the woman's children against the hospital in connection to these allegations. One wonders what will ultimately happen in this case.
