Doctor sued in connection to child's birth injuries

Recently, a birth injury case has arisen. The case is from Texas. The case involves a woman who gave birth to a son at a hospital in Port Arthur, Texas in September 2012.

The woman has leveled negligence allegations against a doctor who provided care in relation to her pregnancy. The woman alleges that the doctor failed to react properly to changes in her condition and engaged in actions which resulted in a delay occurring in her son being delivered. According to the woman, this resulted in her son being delivered later than he should have been.

The woman claims that the doctor's alleged negligence led to her son being born with serious neurological injuries. According to the woman, her son's birth injuries have had and will continue to have major impacts on his life.

A lawsuit has been brought in a court in Texas by the woman in relation to these allegations. The lawsuit names the above-mentioned doctor and the above-mentioned hospital as defendants. Damages are being asked for in this lawsuit. One wonders what will happen in this case and how it ultimately will be resolved.

As the allegations in this case illustrate, negligence by medical professionals can sometimes result in infants suffering birth injuries. No infant should have to suffer an injury because a medical professional acted improperly. Thus, one hopes that all medical professionals make sure to act properly when providing care in relation to a pregnancy or a child's birth. One also hopes medical professionals are held accountable when they commit harmful negligence in relation to a pregnancy/birth. One thing that can play a major role in holding negligent medical professionals financially accountable for the impacts of their negligence are medical malpractice claims.
