Woman claims she was the victim of a negligent misdiagnosis

It is very important for medical professionals and hospitals to not act negligently when it comes to the diagnosing of patients. Diagnosis-related negligence (such as a negligent misdiagnosis) can cause great harm to patients.

Recently, a medical malpractice case has arisen involving an alleged negligent misdiagnosis. The case is from Louisiana. The case involves a woman who received care at a hospital in Louisiana.

When she went to the hospital, the woman reportedly had the following symptoms: severe pain, facial numbness and acute hearing loss. According to the woman, negligence occurred during the course of her care at the hospital and this negligence resulted in the cause of these symptoms being misdiagnosed.

The woman claims that this alleged negligent misdiagnosis caused her to suffer a variety of harms, including pain, permanent injuries and mental anguish.

According to the Louisiana Record article which reported this story, a lawsuit has been brought in a court in Louisiana by the woman in connection to these allegations. Two doctors, a hospital and a foundation have been named as defendants in this lawsuit. The lawsuit reportedly is asking for damages. It will be interesting to see what happens in this medical malpractice case and how it is ultimately resolved.

No patient should have to experience diagnosis-related negligence. As the allegations in this case underscore, such negligence can be very impactful on patients. One hopes that medical professionals and hospitals are held accountable when they commit diagnosis-related negligence and such negligence results in a patient suffering harm.
