It can be a very serious matter when medical professionals and medical facilities act negligently when providing care to patients. Medical negligence can be extremely harmful to patients. Such negligence can sometimes even have fatal results.
Recently, a case involving allegations of medical negligence has come up in Illinois. The case involves a woman who received care at a hospital in Illinois in January.
According to the woman's husband, negligence occurred in connection to this care. Included among the negligent conduct the woman's husband alleges occurred during the woman's care were: a failure to properly evaluate the woman, a failure to properly treat the woman and a failure to respond properly when the woman's condition become critical.
The woman's husband claims that the alleged negligence resulted in the woman dying.
A lawsuit has been brought in a court in Illinois by the woman's husband in connection to the above allegations. The lawsuit names two doctors, an emergency department services company, a radiology organization and the above-mentioned hospital as defendants. Damages are reportedly being sought in this lawsuit. It will be interesting to see what ultimately happens in this case.
As the allegations in this case illustrate, medical negligence can sometimes result in a patient's death. Thus, one hopes that all medical professionals and medical facilities make sure to act properly when it comes to the care of patients. No patient should have to be subjected to medical negligence. One also hopes that medical professionals and medical facilities are held accountable when they act negligently when caring for a patient and such negligence results in a patient getting hurt or dying.
