Hospital sued in connection to young child's death

It is very important for medical professionals and medical facilities to act properly when providing care to young children. No child should have to be subjected to medical negligence. Such negligence can cause great harm to children. Sadly, such negligence can sometimes even result in a child's death.

Recently, a medical malpractice case has arisen involving the care of a young child. The case is from Florida.

Reportedly, in early 2010, a 1-year-old boy received care at a hospital in Florida. The boy's mother has alleged that, during the course of this care, the hospital and its staff acted negligently in connection to the administration of an insulin injection and IV fluids and committed other negligent conduct.

The boy's mother claims that the alleged negligence caused the boy to suffer brain damage and seizures and ultimately resulted in the boy dying.

A lawsuit has been brought in a court in Florida by the boy's mother against the hospital in connection to these allegations. This lawsuit reportedly is asking for damages. One wonders what will happen in this case and how it will ultimately be resolved.

As the allegations in this case underscore, negligent conduct by medical professionals and medical facilities when it comes to the care of young children can have truly devastating results. Thus, one hopes that medical professionals and medical facilities make sure to not act negligently when providing care to young children. One also hopes that medical professionals and medical facilities are held accountable when they commit medical negligence and such negligence results in a young child suffering harm or dying.
