Trial underway in case involving allegations of medication-related negligence

It can be a very serious matter when medical professionals or medical facilities commit medication-related negligence. No patient should have to be subjected to such negligence. Such negligence can cause a great deal of harm to patients. Thus, one hopes that medical professionals and medical facilities make sure to act properly when it comes to the prescription of medications to patients and are held accountable when they commit harmful medication-related negligence.

Recently, a trial began in a case that involves allegations of medication-related negligence. The case is from Pennsylvania. The case involves a man who is a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. The man reportedly has post-traumatic stress disorder.

According to the man, he received care from a VA medical center in Pennsylvania. The man alleges that negligence occurred in connection to this care. Prescribing the man medications different than the ones that he should have been given for his condition is one of the acts of negligence the man has accused the medical center of.

A medical malpractice lawsuit was brought in a federal court in Pennsylvania by the man and his wife against the Department of Veterans Affairs in connection to these allegations. Reportedly, the man and his wife are seeking monetary damages.

A nonjury trial is currently being held regarding this matter. According to the article on the Scranton Times-Tribune's website which reported this story, the trial started this Monday. One wonders what will happen in this trial and what decision the judge in this case will ultimately make.
