It is very important for medical professionals and medical facilities to not act negligently when providing patients with surgical care. No patient should have to be subjected to negligence during a surgical procedure. Surgical negligence can sometimes result in patients suffering injuries. Injuries caused by surgical errors can be very impactful on a patient.
Recently, a medical malpractice case has arisen in which surgical negligence has been alleged. The case is from Texas. The case involves a woman who reportedly underwent a surgical procedure at a hospital in Texas in June 2010. The procedure in question was a hip replacement surgery.
According to the woman, negligence occurred during the performance of this surgery. The woman claims that this alleged negligence caused her to sustain injuries. According to the woman, included among the injuries she suffered was an injury to her sciatic nerve.
According to the Ultimate Clear Lake article which reported this story, a lawsuit has been brought by the woman in a court in Texas in connection to these allegations. In this medical malpractice lawsuit, the doctor who reportedly performed the hip replacement surgery and the above-mentioned hospital have been named as defendants.
According to the Ultimate Clear Lake article mentioned above, damages are being sought in this lawsuit.
Surgical negligence, like that alleged in the above-discussed medical malpractice case, can cause a great deal of harm to patients. Thus, one hopes that medical professionals and medical facilities are held accountable when they commit harmful surgical errors during a procedure.
