Patient awarded monetary judgment

It is very important for medical professionals to act properly when providing patients with care. Negligence by medical professionals can cause patients to suffer great harms. Such harms can have major negative impacts on a patient's life.

Recently, a jury reached its decision in a medical negligence case from Colorado. The case involved a man who went to the emergency department of a hospital in Colorado and received care from a doctor.

The man alleged that, during this care, the doctor committed negligence, such as failing to properly diagnose him.

Reportedly, after the man was discharged from the hospital, he became paralyzed. The man claimed that the doctor's alleged negligence contributed to him developing paralysis. The man's paralysis reportedly is from the chest down.

The man brought a medical malpractice lawsuit in a court in Colorado against the doctor in connection to these allegations. A trial was held in regards to this matter. Recently, the jury in this case reached a verdict. According to the article on Law Week Colorado's website which reported this story, the jury ruled in favor of the man and granted him a monetary award.

As the allegations that were made in this recently decided medical malpractice case underscore, it can be very harmful when medical professionals act negligently when providing patients with care. Thus, one hopes that all medical professionals make sure to avoid committing negligence like that which was alleged in this case. No patient should have to suffer harm because a medical professional failed to act properly.
