Hospital sued in connection to injuries child suffered

It is very important for medical professionals and medical facilities to act properly when it comes to the care of infant patients. No infant should have to be subjected to medical negligence. Such negligence can be very harmful to infants. For example, such negligence can sometimes result in infants suffering life-altering injuries.

Recently, a medical malpractice case involving care of an infant has arisen in Michigan. The case involves a girl who was born at a hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan in February 2010.

The girl's parents allege that negligence occurred in connection to the care the girl received at the hospital after she was born. According to the girl's parents, the alleged negligence resulted in the girl experiencing cardiac arrest and sustaining major brain damage. Reportedly, the girl has a variety of care needs as a result of the brain damage.

According to the article on MLive.com which reported this story, the girl's parents have brought a medical malpractice lawsuit in a court in Michigan against the hospital in connection to the above allegations. The article did not mention what specific relief the girl's parents have requested in this lawsuit. It will be interesting to see what happens in this medical malpractice case and how it is ultimately resolved.

As the allegations in this case underscore, medical negligence can cause a great deal of harm to infants. Thus, one hopes that all medical professionals and medical facilities make sure to not act negligently when providing infant patients with care.
