Hospital and three doctors sued in connection to woman's death

When medical professionals or hospitals act negligently in connection to the testing or examining of patients, it can result in an unnecessary delay in the correct diagnosis being reached. Such delays can be very harmful. Tragically, such delays can sometimes even have fatal results.

Recently, a case involving allegations of the above-mentioned type of negligence has arisen in West Virginia. The case involves a woman who reportedly underwent a CT scan at a hospital in West Virginia in October 2010.

The woman's daughter claims that medical professionals at the hospital negligently failed to notice an abnormality that was indicated in the CT scan's results and that this negligence resulted in a condition the woman had not being diagnosed and treated in a timely manner. The woman's daughter alleges that this, in turn, resulted in the woman dying. The woman's death occurred on Nov. 11, 2010.

The woman's daughter has brought a wrongful death lawsuit in a court in West Virginia in connection to these allegations. Three doctors and the above-mentioned hospital have been named as defendants in this lawsuit. This lawsuit reportedly asks for punitive and compensatory damages.

As the allegations in this wrongful death case underscore, it can be very harmful when medical professionals and/or hospitals commit negligence in regards to the testing or examining of patients. No patient should have to be subjected to such negligence. Thus, one hopes that all medical professionals and hospitals make sure to act properly when it comes to the testing and examining of patients.
