Lawsuit claims medication-related negligence led to woman's death

It is very important for health care providers to act properly when it comes to giving medications to patients. When a health care provider commits medication-related negligence, it can result in medication errors occurring. Such errors can cause a great deal of harm to patients. Sadly, medication errors can sometimes even result in a patient's death.

Recently, a wrongful death case involving allegations of medication-related negligence has arisen in Texas. The case involves a woman who reportedly received care from a home health care company.

The woman's daughter claims that negligence occurred in connection to the care the home health care company provided to the woman. Specifically, the woman's daughter alleges that a nurse with the company negligently gave the woman the wrong dose of the drug morphine. According to the woman's daughter, this alleged negligence resulted in the woman suffering a morphine overdose and dying. The woman reportedly died on July 11, 2011.

According to the Ultimate Spring article which reported this story, a lawsuit has been brought in a court in Texas by the woman's daughter against the home health care company in connection to the above allegations. In this lawsuit, the woman's daughter reportedly is asking for damages. One wonders what will happen in this case and how it will ultimately be resolved.

As the allegations in this wrongful death case underscore, medication-related negligence can sometimes have fatal results. Thus, one hopes that all health care providers make sure to not act negligently when it comes to giving medications to patients.
