Hospital sued in connection to woman's death

It is very important for hospitals and medical professionals to make sure to not act negligently when it comes to the post-surgical care of patients. When a patient is provided with negligent post-surgical care, he or she can suffer great harm. Sadly, such medical negligence can sometimes even have fatal results.

Recently, a wrongful death case has arisen in West Virginia involving allegations of negligent post-surgical care. The case involves a now-deceased woman who reportedly underwent a surgery at a hospital in West Virginia in May 2009 and received care at the hospital after the surgery.

The woman's daughter claims that the hospital provided the woman with negligent care during the woman's time at the hospital after the surgery. The woman's daughter claims that this alleged negligence led to the woman suffering infections and injuries and contributed to the woman's eventual death.

A lawsuit has been brought in a court in West Virginia by the woman's daughter against the hospital in connection to the above allegations. The woman's daughter reportedly is asking for punitive and compensatory damages in this lawsuit.

As the allegations in this case illustrate, it can be very harmful when a medical professional or hospital provides a patient with negligent care. Thus, one hopes that all medical professionals and hospitals make sure to avoid committing negligence like that alleged in this case. No patient should have to lose her or her life because a medical professional or hospital failed to act properly in regards to patient care.
