Man brings lawsuit in connection to wife's death

Patients can suffer great harm when medical professionals or hospitals provide them with negligent care. Sadly, medical negligence can sometimes even have fatal results. Thus, it is very important for medical professionals and hospitals to act properly when providing care to patients.

Recently, a wrongful death case involving medical negligence allegations has arisen. The case involves a West Virginia woman who reportedly received care at a hospital in Virginia in January of 2010.

The woman's husband alleges that negligence occurred in connection to the woman's care. The woman's husband claims that this alleged negligence resulted in a delay occurring in the detection of a medical condition the woman was suffering from. According to the woman's husband, this condition caused the woman's visceral organs to die and the woman died as a result of it. The woman reportedly died on January 22, 2010.

According to the article on the State Journal's website which reported this story, the woman's husband has brought a wrongful death lawsuit against several individuals and organizations (including the above-mentioned hospital) in connection to these allegations. The woman's husband reportedly is asking for damages in this lawsuit. One wonders what will happen in this case and how it will ultimately be resolved.

No patient should have to lose his or her life because a hospital or medical professional acted negligently in connection to his or her care. Thus, one hopes that medical professionals and hospitals are held accountable when they commit negligence like that alleged in this case.
