Lawsuit alleges man's death was the result of medication-related negligence

Patients can suffer great harm when a medical professional acts negligently when it comes to prescribing medications. Sadly, medication-related negligence can sometimes even result in a patient's death. Thus, it is very important for medical professionals to act properly in connection to the prescription of medications and to make sure to not commit medication-related negligence.

Recently, a case involving allegations of medication-related negligence has arisen in West Virginia. The case involves a man who reportedly received care from a West Virginia doctor in April of 2008. Reportedly, after the man became a patient of the doctor, the man died at a baseball game.

The man's wife claims that the doctor acted negligently in connection to a prescription he reportedly gave to the man. According to the man's wife, this alleged negligence led to the man's death.

The man's wife has brought a wrongful death lawsuit in a court in West Virginia against the above-mentioned doctor in connection to these allegations. Reportedly, in her lawsuit, the man's wife is asking for punitive and compensatory damages. One wonders what will happen in this case and how it will ultimately be resolved.

As the allegations in this wrongful death case illustrate, medication-related negligence can be very harmful and can sometimes even have fatal results. Thus, one hopes that medical professionals are held accountable when they act negligently when it comes to prescribing medications to patients. No patient should have to suffer harm or lose his or her life because a medical professional committed medication-related negligence.
