A patient can suffer great harm when a medical professional or medical organization provides him or her with negligent surgical care. Thus, it is very important for medical professionals and medical organizations to make sure to not act negligently in connection to care provided to a patient during a surgery.
Recently, a jury in Texas reached its decision in a case that involved allegations of surgery-related negligence. The case involved a woman who underwent a hysterectomy in 2008.
The woman claimed that she received negligent care in connection to this surgical procedure. According to the woman, this alleged negligent care resulted in her suffering a variety of harms. The woman further alleged that she wasn't properly informed prior to the surgery as to who actually would be performing the majority of the surgery.
The woman brought a lawsuit in Texas against a medical clinic and a doctor in connection to the above-mentioned allegations of surgical negligence. A trial was held on this matter and the jury in this case recently reached its decision. According to the KTRK article which reported this story, the jury ruled in favor of the woman and awarded her a monetary judgment.
No patient should have to be subjected to surgery-related negligence like that which was alleged in this recently decided medical malpractice case. Thus, one hopes that all medical professionals and medical organizations make sure to act properly when it comes to providing surgical care to patients. One also hopes that medical professionals and medical organizations are held accountable when they act negligently while providing a patient with surgical care.
