Jury rules against two doctors in infant decapitation case

Great harm can be caused when a medical professional acts negligently when providing a patient with care in connection to a pregnancy. Sadly, such negligence can sometimes even result in an infant's death. Thus, it is very important for medical professionals to engage only in proper conduct when providing care in connection to a pregnancy.

Recently, a jury reached its decision in a Kentucky case involving a pregnancy and allegations of medical negligence.

The case involved a woman who, in 2006, was pregnant. The woman reportedly went into premature labor. Allegedly, during the delivery, the woman's child was decapitated.

The woman claimed that two doctors who provided her with care in connection to her pregnancy committed negligence in connection to the care they gave her and that this negligence caused the decapitation of her child.

The woman brought a lawsuit in Kentucky against the two doctors in connection to these allegations. A trial was held on this matter. The jury in this case recently reached its decision. According to the WLKY article which reported this story, the jury ruled against the two doctors and awarded the woman a large monetary judgment.

No individual should have to experience something as gruesome as the decapitation of their child because a medical professional acted negligently in connection to a pregnancy. Thus, one hopes that medical professionals make sure to avoid committing negligence like that alleged in the above-mentioned case. One also hopes that medical professionals are held accountable when they act negligently when providing care in connection to a pregnancy.
