It is very important for medical professionals and hospitals to not act negligently when providing a patient with care in connection to a surgical procedure. Negligence during a surgical procedure can cause a patient great harm. Sadly, such negligence can sometimes even result in a patient's death.
Recently, a wrongful death case has arisen in Tennessee regarding a surgical procedure. The case involves a woman who reportedly underwent back surgery at a medical center in Tennessee in January.
The woman's husband alleges that the woman received negligent care during the surgery and that one of the woman's arteries was accidently cut during the procedure. The husband claims that the woman died as a result of this alleged negligence.
The woman's husband has brought a wrongful death lawsuit in Tennessee against the medical center in connection to these allegations. In his lawsuit, the woman's husband is asking for damages. It will be interesting to see what happens in this case and how it is ultimately resolved.
As the allegations in this case illustrate, great harm can be caused when hospitals and/or medical professionals act negligently in connection to a surgical procedure. No patient should have to have his or her health and/or life put at risk because of surgical negligence. Thus, one hopes that medical professionals and hospitals make sure to act properly when providing a patient with care in connection to a surgery. One also hopes medical professionals and hospitals are held accountable when they commit surgical negligence and such negligence results in a patient losing his or her life.
