Wrongful death lawsuit brought against hospital and doctors

When people receive care at a hospital, they expect that their doctors and the facility will provide them with proper care. If medical professionals and hospitals fail to live up to this expectation and are negligent in their care of a patient, it can cause the patient in question great harm. Sadly, negligence by hospitals and/or medical professionals can sometimes even lead to a patient's death.

Recently, a wrongful death case has arisen involving allegations of medical negligence. The case involves a man who reportedly received care at an Illinois hospital in 2009 in connection to diabetes-related complications.

The man's wife alleges that the hospital and two of the man's doctors were negligent in the care they provided to the man. The wife claims that they allowed the man's glucose to fall to life-threatening levels and that this resulted in the man suffering a heart attack.

Reportedly, in August of 2009, the man died.

The man's wife has brought a wrongful death lawsuit in Illinois against the hospital and the two doctors in connection to the above-mentioned allegations of medical negligence. It will be interesting to see how this case is ultimately resolved.

As the allegations in this case underscore, medical negligence can be very harmful. No patient should have to be subjected to having their health or life put at risk because a hospital or medical professional provided them with negligent care. Thus, one hopes medical professionals and hospitals will do everything they can to avoid exposing their patients to medical negligence.
