Negligence lawsuit brought against doctor

It is very important for doctors to provide patients with proper care when it comes to things such as examinations, diagnostic procedures and testing. If doctors fail to do this, it can result in a patient experiencing a delay in getting a correct diagnosis, which can cause a patient great harm. No patient should have to be exposed to this type of medical negligence.

Recently, a case has arisen in West Virginia involving allegations of medical negligence. The case involves a man who reportedly received care from a West Virginia doctor.

The man and his wife claim that the doctor provided the man with negligent care. Specifically, they allege that the doctor failed to take proper diagnostic-related steps following a colonoscopy the man underwent. According to the man and his wife, this negligence caused a delay in the man's condition being diagnosed. The couple alleges that the delay caused the man harm. The man was eventfully diagnosed with cancer.

The man and his wife brought a lawsuit in West Virginia against the doctor in connection to these allegations. According to the Charleston Gazette article which reported this story, in their lawsuit, the man and his wife are asking for damages.

As the allegations in this case underscore, patients can suffer greatly when doctors provide them with negligent care. Thus, one hopes that doctors will do what they can to make sure that their patients aren't exposed to conduct like that alleged in the above-mentioned case. One also hopes doctors are held accountable when they commit harmful medical negligence.
